Post 94 Convertible Top Problem

I have been having a problem with my converitble top. The top goes down without a problem, but when i try to put it up, the motor does not work. The only way i was able to get it up was by slowly guiding the top up while my friend held down the button. The motor struggled and barely worked, but I was able to get the top up. Has anyone had a similar problem? Any information about what to do or what could be wrong is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm surprised you even got it up. My motor went bad and I tried pulling it up when the button was pressed, but the motor didn't even respond. Later on I just tapped on the motor with a hammer while she held the button and the top went right up. Meaning I have a bad motor and it sounds like you do too. Get it replaced or look for any loose cables holding the top back.

I had a problem similar to this. An o-ring on one of my hydrolic lifters broke and it lost all the pressure in the line. The top wouldn't go up, and everytime I pressed the button I shot hydrolic fluid into the top's storage area! I'm sure if you had the sme problem you would have noticed the fluid by now, so I'd assume it's going to be your motor.
