![]() Well fri night I got to go to the track. The newest problem is now the ol tremac is hard to shift. Second is gone.
1st pass 14.03 @ 108, missed sec 2nd pass 13.18 @ 110, missed sec 3rd pass 11.69 @ 116.55, on juice, granny shifting 4th pass 12.28 @ 115.82, nos, missed 4th, granny shifting 5th pass 12.63 @ 105.98, forgot what happened 6th pass 11.92 @ 114.30, nos, missed 2nd again Anyway, the motor passes are slower than when I went on radials, and this time I was on 28 X 10 ET Streets. I will go back to 26" tires and get rid of the rev limiter. But the 11.6 was enogh to make it a good night.

![]() Sucks about 2nd....
Well, I can't really guage (or is it au?) if those runs were good or bad cause I don't know what you SHOULD be running. So, what times do you expect to run in that car with good tires, on the bottle, and good shifting on a good day? Mid 11s? BTW, how in the world do you miss 4rth? ![]() ![]()

![]() Well sec and fourth, how can one miss? Yes I feel that mid to low 11s are possiable. My best 60ft was just 1.59, were with the 26" tires I can 1.54. And all the rest of the slip shows suffering all the way down.

![]() Most of the time when I miss gears its because I forget to adjust the stops on the shifter. I pull my pro-shifted box apart quite often and the stops always need adjusted. About the only thing I break consistently is the roll pin that holds the 1-2 fork on to the shift rod. Its really a simple fix. You should pull the covers off and tell us what you find.

![]() andy669, what transmission do you run. TREMEC? couirous because i thought that the tremecs have internal stops for the shifters. i am a little stupid when it comes to these trannys. i have a tko and adjusted the stops for the shifter all the way out. plus just bought a set of 275/60/15 nittos and think they are too big. should i go with the 275/50?

![]() Mines a TKO. I have never been to a class or taught the right way to work on these trannys so Im certainly not an expert.
I'm not aware of anything in the trans that could be considered a stop like the shifters have. I'm sure when the shift rods get to a certain point they wont move any further, but that may be after the fork bends or you've over extended the slider. If youre doing alot of powershifting I would recommend setting the stops on the shifter just as the instructions say. Then check it periodically cause as the shift pads wear down you will need a little more travel to get the same slider engagement. If youre not powershifting, dont worry about it. My problem was, the shifter was hitting the stop before the 3-4 slider was engaging fully in to third. It would go in fine driving around the pits, but on the track it would grind every time. Another problem I had was hitting fourth. After realizing that the back of my elbow was sore and bruised I figured out it was hittting the armrest when pulling fourth. Since I have taken it out I havnent missed fourth once. My elbow feels a whole lot better too. ![]() Andy
