Bad valve seals is usually burning oil. Even if they are bad, that doesn't fix the zero compression on #8. That is something much worse.

You can use a vacuum gauge to check that your valves are closing properly, but you should probably pull the head off and look at #8 piston. Does your pcv take off of the #8 runner on the upper?

Look at the piston and let me know dude. I am really curious because I had to put a new bullet in a 93 because of a smoked #8 piston. The only reason I could come to was the drain hole in the pcv baffle in the valve cover was plugged which fouled the entire. That has a direct effect then on what goes into #8 which burned it (leaned out). Let me know.
