Default PKRWUD - Need some professional help

This is not a Ford question, but I figured since this is such a diverse message board this was the fastest way to get an answer, and I'd appreciate it if this post could at least stay here until resolved.

My friend has a Chevy Z71 pickup with a 350 in it. He said it falls on it's face when you accelerate, unless you baby it. He said it just started all of a sudden.

He's been told it may be the TPS sensor. Could that be the culprit? If so, how do I diagnos this for him? I know how to set the TPS on a Ford. Is it similar?

I assume it is an electrical or fuel problem since it was running fine one minute, then crappy the next. Any other ideas?

Any help you could give me on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
