Just show up

the charger weighs as much as a sherman tank ... you should have a big atvantage right there.
As for the first part of your question ... cost and reliability are a constant tradeoff in hotrodding... how are you gonna use this stroker? With nitrous or a blower or just gas and a carb or EFI ?? The reliability that will get you by with a carb and pump gas may not be nearly enough with a big shot of nitrous or a blower with a ton of boost ... decide what you're gonna do, then you have a better idea what direction you need to go.
If it were me and this is just my humble opinion, i'd back down a bit on the stroker ... 408 from a 351 is kinda pushing the limit ... you'll probably have to do some notching for clearance and your rod ratio isn't the best out there either.
And when you get a stroker or anything else ... don't take peoples word for anything ...check it !! I just got a stroker kit (372 cu in long rod) it was advertised with my 64 cc combustion chambers at 10:1 compression ... in the process of checking the math after i got it i found out it was actually 8.6:1 ! Wrong pistons !! God knows how many people have bought that kit thinking they had a 10:1 compression ratio and actually only have 8.6:1 !! and this is from a company thats been around since dirt was new !! Check and recheck everything !!
Now go out there and show that Charger the south end of a north bound Mustang !!
