You can rent a tool from the auto-part store for free usually (they just need a deposit on the tool). If you are having trouble getting it out with the puller, make sure you are biting on the little indentions on the back of the pilot bearing. (If you don't have a new pilot bearing, go buy one so you can tell where the indentions are and place the jaws of the puller in these indentions). I couldn't get mine out either, until I looked at the new pilot bearing and noticed the indentions. Otherwise there is nothing for the jaws to bite into. Good luck and let us know what happens.
