Hmmmm...to bad Ford didn't have the windsor engines share a few more components.
I would go for a 8.2 deck height engine featuring 351 mains, fastners, timing chain cover, harmonic balancer, flywheel, oil pan ect. So that the only difference would be the rods (even then I would go for rods that were the correct length to mount 351 windsor pistons), pistons, pushrods, and lower intake.
As for the block I would go siamesed bores, 1/2 or 3/4" deck (nothing like an 1-1/2" of metal with a itty bitty gasket in between), solid main webs, solid pan rails, a common main cap featuring splayed 4 bolt mains (like a girdle and 4 bolts mains all in one).
blind bolt holes, screw in freeze plugs, screw in galley plugs, smooth cast waterjackets, and I guess a few more things that I can't think about?
