I'm not familiar with that kit. But I think if you're staying normally aspirated a good set of hypereutectic pistons are just fine. They're lighter than forged pistons, and they run tighter piston to cylinder wall clearances for better ring seal. If you plan on spraying some nitrous oxide or adding a blower, then definitely get a good set of forged pistons. They're much more forgiving to detonation.

Yes the pistons you have in your stock 88 are forged, unfortunately your cylinder walls, rings, and bearings are worn out (hense the low oil pressure and oil burning). Only a rebuild will cure that, regardless of the piston type.
