I had a precision non-lockup. Ever notice how your car "falls flat on its face" when it "locks up"?
Depending on your power output, the input shafts are a known weak spot and the non lockup uses a one piece input shaft, which is stronger.
Are you going to drag race your car at all? Take it to the track? My AOD was moddified so the shift pattern was different, and I could hold second and third gear at the track without going into OD or lock up. If your mostly concerned with cruising and will do a lot of highway driving, you might want to keep lockup, but to me the extra strength was worth getting rid of it.
Its all a compromise, just think about whats better for you. If your after performance more than mileage, non lock up might be your best bet. If not, consider the other way.
