I guess in your case it wouldn't hurt you to take them off.
Besides that, there are much better aftermarket suspension parts that work better than quad shocks.
It's kind of like those factory traction bars that came on my '82GT...they helped a little bit but weren't the best things for traction control.
If you have a stock '87-'93 mustang then I would just leave them on there. When people start modding them they usually toss them in favor of something more effective.
