Some improvement in CFM can be achieved by matching the sizes and alignment of the plenum, runners and manifold base. Matching the alignment of the plenums can be achieved by applying a light film of Prussian Blue to each end of the runner, installing the runner, and torquing the runner down. Removing the runner and inspecting the Prussian Blue contact point will show where the runners are misaligned. A more careful inspection will reveal where the runners are oversized or undersized compared with either the intake or the central plenum. Even after spending hours grinding the material away so as to achieve a perfect match will probably not get you more then 3 or 4 added horsepower.
