Sounds like the 351HO. What's the stroke/bore? Educated guess, tape measure will be close enough. The 302's had a 3" stroke (1.5" crank throw), 4" bore. 351W had 3.5" stroke (1.75" crank throw), 4" bore. Another easy way to tell the difference is to look at the front of the block. Right behind the ditzy, the 351W has about a 1" web standing straight up, from the block to the bottom of the intake. Whereas the 302 was relatively flush. Also look at the timing cover bolts, near where the head gasket is. The bolts on the 302 are REALLY close to the head gasket, and again the 351W has some distance there, because of the taller deck. If it's a 351HO, you should have a 9.5" deck height, measure from the centerline of the crank, to the deck (where the head gasket is) Sounds to me like you found a diamond in the rough bro, got yourself a 351HO.
