Stock Cam gonna cut it?
ok, here is the deal. I am putting a fresh 306 91 h.o. in the fastback. The setup is a edelbrock RPM Manifold, 600 Holley Vac Secondaries, Mallery ignition and Distributor, 1.7 roller rockers, and a set of heavily ported, gasket matched....etc e7's. The e7's have new springs that are slightly stiffer then the stockers were. Car has full length headers to a 2.25 exhaust. Engine is bolted to an AOD, with a P.I. 2800 stall and 4.10 gears.
If I put the engine in as planned in the next month, I was gonna use the stock cam. I have seen lots of you guys saying not to do it, but I did not want to over cam this set-up. So, what cam should I run if not the stocker? I kinda want to keep the 1.7 rollers.
