I think If I did one, it would get a 6 speed and a sweet suspension set up for some serious road course applications.

Not sure on the engine, since fuel comsumption would be an issue. If the reliability was there, I would tend to lean towrds a turbo 347 or the cobra motor swap possibly.

And like Jester said, a large fuel tank.
