guys this is what i did. i had the same problem as you.
i cut a bigger notch out of the crossmember and cut off the hanger for the hpipe. rewelded them closer to the pipe making the hangers shorter, and modifing my hpipe bracket that attaches to the tranny. it worked like a charm. you got to readjust the muffs and the tails again. if you dont like the tails haging low (mostly LX models) do this: use the factory rubber hangers and to "pull" the exhaust "closer" to the floor, use hose clamps to draw them up. i had mine on for a year and they havent moved or budged a bit. you cant see it either and it makes less exuast rattle too. it keeps tension on the whole system, yet it can still flex with the engine. trust me this works!! some people like the low hanging LX pipes. me, i tucked those babies up and it. you cant even see the welded tailpipe hanger like the factory has when it came from ford. hope i helped you guys out.
