Stumped on fuel pump switch....
Ok, for those of you who helped me figure out how to hook into the fuel pump, to make a cut off switch, I need your help again. I hooked into the Red wire with the Black tracer under my seat. I took that wire to the switch, along with the ground and the power wire. When I turn the key to the "ON" position with the switch OFF, I can hear the pump prime. When I don't have the key in the ignition, and I turn the switch ON, I can hear the pump prime. The power wire is hooked directly to the battery. I have a 10 gauge wire with 4 splices from Painless Wires for the power wire, and the same for the ground. I hooked my line-lock into the momentary switch on the panel and that works fine. So what I need to figure out, is why, when the switch is OFF, and the key is turned to ON, the pump primes. Anybody have any ideas? I am kind of stupmed on this. Thanks for any help you can give me. Sorry for the long post.
