My 2000 GT rev limiter cuts in at 6250. I know the 4.6 is good for alot more though, as Sean Hyland proved. No rev limiter on my 65 stang with the 289 though, DUH

I friend of mine was trying to help me work on the 289 and I told him to start her up and give it alittle gas. Well the dumba$$ thought hed be funny and rev the engine a little. He floored the gas and started it up. I heard the engine scream to life and dove

away for my life. After he let off the gas it shutdown (Huge vacuum leak), and asked me "When the needle on this thing gets to 7, is that bad." while pointing to my tach. He said it went the whole way up to 7000 rpm. Well, I know I at least built it right. Didnt think it would take a 7000 rpm blast though.
