I'm not saying if you run 500hp on the block it will come apart, or 550 or 600. I'm saying if you exceed 450hp or so the chances of your block holding together very long are drastically reduced. Every block is a little different, just because some people dodge the stone doesn't mean saying somebody else will be able to is a good idea.
There are lots of things on Mustangs that don't get the kind of credit they deserve, but a lot of people have the webbing crack on the stock block and their engine comes apart. If an engine has more than 400-500hp, you've already invested a TON of money into it. Why not just spend a few hundred more and find a 4 bolt?
I think the 450hp was pretty good advice.
