What do you think?
I came across a set of heads in the back of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine. I need your opinion on them. They are the Aerohead, $399/pair assembled. The specs are as followed:
Select D8OE Castings 3 angle valve job Bronze wall liners 7 degree locks Chromoly Retainers 1.90x1.60 valves .550" lift springs 69cc chamber volume 130cc intake volume 5/16 Pedestal Rocker Mounts standard What do yall think? Do you think they are worth trying? Will they be good with my stock mustang(except for headers, x pipe, and low/mid cam)? Thanks for any input guys. |

Dont you already have a thread asking this same question?
Anyway, $399 is a good price for those heads, but I dont think you will gain much by switching to them. You will lose some compression for sure with the 69cc chambers. Andy

They look like 351w heads (D8OE), not sure on the intake volume & springs (IV seem a little small). valves are bigger (1.78/1.45 stock). You could probably get the same heads done locally for less than $399+shiping.
IMHO

Just get them milled and I think they will be a substantial improvement over the stock E7's.
The only down side to these heads is the loss of compression from the 69cc chambers. Stock heads have 64CC chambers. These heads have small intake runners so they will maintane good air velocity and with the large valves they should make more power than the E7's. I had over 600 bux in my ported polished and milled E7's when I had them and out ran cars with edelbrock and AFR heads all the time. Its all in the set-up. Just mill the heads to up the compression back to stock. It cost about 20 bux per head.
