![]() Look at Central Coast Mustang (California)or Excessive Motorsports (Missouri). Both of these companies have long blocks at very competetive prices. You'll still have to purchase intake, electronics and accessories, but you won't get much cheaper for a long block. If you only want to spend a couple of thousand, you won't have much choice other than a stock type engine. If you want a little more excitement, you'll have to spend a bit more. Check out the latest MM&FF or 5.0 magazine. Both companies have full page spreads.
I'm looking into an engine swap also. I'm seriously considering going with CCM. They have come highly recommended and are very knowledgeable and friendly. Good luck. |

![]() Holy cow...most places I've seen offer those motors in that price range-especially the 306's...pick up a mm&ff and then do a search on Mustangworks for opinions and experiences with companies you find. Keith Kraft looks to be real good-especially for the price-chp has some good prices on 347's too-Excessive Motorsports? uh oh...There was a list about 30- 1/4 mile's long about those guys maybe a month ago.

![]() I'd steer way clear of excessive motorsports.
I don't think anybody has ever had a good experiance with those guys. Basically you never get your stuff. They won't be in business much longer I'm sure, word about that place is spreading like wildfire. |

![]() Avoid Excessive like the plague. Unless, of course, you enjoy being screwed with. I'd recommend either Central Coast Mustang, Keith Craft, or DSS. If you're looking for a whole long block, Central Coast has some good deals on 302s. Other than that those other builders I listed usually only offer short blocks in that range.

![]() Why not (in general) go for a 351w instead of a 347? Is it harder/more expensive? How do they compare in reliability/durability?

I checked out Central Coast Mustang before I went to work today and I found that they have a 302 GT 40P High Compression Long Block with 340 horses for $2,100.00. And I am going to check out keith kraft right now to see what they got. If anyone else has any comments please write. And again thanks for all your help.

![]() The problem with getting a 351W is you have to get a new flywheel (different imbalance), special headers ($$$), and lower intake manifold (don't know about upper), special serpentine belt brackets if you want to keep the belts...that's all i can think of. my goal myself is to save up enough money For PAW's 427 stroked 351W that's like almost 3000 without heads, but let's see if i ever grow money out of my @ss.

![]() Also need a new hood to fit a 351 in a Fox or SN95.
If you buy a motor with GT40P heads, don't forget to factor in the cost of new headers you will need. |
