Default Got to win this bet

Alright, all trash aside, a co-worker is betting me that his VTEC Honda Prelude will trash my 'stang on the 1/4 at Gateway International. I believe he's mostly stock, no turbo, NOS or head work. All he has is exhaust.

I've got an 89 5.0 Notch. Currently all I've got is Moroso cold air, steeda 3 point strut (will this hurt me?). Got the wife to sign off on underdrive pullies, 3:73's, unequal headers, and off road H. I will advance timing prior to race. Is there anyone running this setup out there? I did research and the page I got to said his car will run 13.5. Can I get him for some more money, or should I bow out?? Lord help me if this guy takes me....

Thanks,
Rob

Damn this is funny...LMAO...are you serious still LMAO ok heres the deal.....You will thrash him off the line and then it will get worse from there you should easily beat him by 7 car lengths.

Just dont fall asleep at the light and its in the bag..If he does beat you, you should kick your own @ss and buy a taurus.

When I was running a 14.7 @93 @3000ft I was taking V-tech preludes by 8 lengths or more.

TAKE OUT A LOAN!!!!! and bet it all

Maybe I've had WAYYYY too much beer. Can't get the post to show an edit, I screwed up and put the stock 1/4 for the Prelude at 13.5, it's actually 15.3. His exhaust probably takes off .5??

Nitto drag radials, ford racing clutch, 3.73's, cold air fender kit, flowmasters, and 1 5/8's equal length headers.

My car is a couple hundred pounds heavier than yours and I am at 3000 ft of altitude.
My sea level time would have been a 14.2
Your car can run a 14.7 bone stock if its a 5 speed

Default I have a similar car...

Just to let you know I have an '89 coupe with:

Cold Air Induction
Off-Road H
Flowmasters
3:55 gears
Bald Tires

I raced a VTEC Prelude this afternoon with exhaust almost as loud as mine and it was not even close. I switched into his lane as soon as I shifted into 2nd and waved out the window. Game over. My car is allergic to rice. You will win. Just don't miss a shift.

Sometimes things like this are hard when I don't know how you drive, or the other guy.. In relation to starting line spin, and shifting skill.

If you are any kind of a driver, and get good traction, you have no worries.

My car with a bone stock EFI 5.0 putting 227 to the wheels ran 13.89 with 3.55's True radials. It weighs 3127 with me in it. I hav e K-member, good exhaust, electric fan. It is a Fox Coupe body. That time was in heat, and I wasn't leaning on the car that hard either. I was mainly practicing 60 foots.
