![]() I tried this question in the trucks section but two days and no answer.. so im just gonna rephrase it here
![]() If i throw like 20 inch wheels that are really wide on my mustang (yea i know they would'nt fit; buts lets say i make em fit) and after driving a bit the front wobbles every time i break is it cuz those rotors are taken in allot more heat from the wheels because of the increased surface contact-- which im thinking would lead to greater friction and heating on the rotors cauzing them to warp....??? so... if i was to get cross drilled rotors (same size) would that help.. or would the best option be to just simple upgrade to bigger size rotors??? ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() Oncee your original rotors warp, if you resurface trhem, they will still warp (again) IMOHO. Sorry, but you need new replacement rotors.
Moving to bigger brakes _may_ help you in that you wont heat them as much. But getting crossdrilled/slotted is just for the pimp factor. On the tracks, noone I know has that done. I run 13" front and 12" rears.

![]() The Drilled rotors are made to cool quicker. At least that is what my engineer teachers say.

![]() Drilled rotors DO cool faster, yes. BUT they also CRACK at those stress points (holes) in the rotor. The more holes you drill, the more stress points for cracking and wasting a rotor.
Ever notice how the big-brake companies are all moving away from slotted/drilled rotors lately... and putting them on sale...?

![]() yo i found out that all i need to do is replace the rotors and pads... lolz guess my college education that i used to try to figure out how to get around this was pretty much pointless....
all i had done was cut the rotors b4 and kept the same pads on... a few of my friends are mechanics and they were laughing at me when i hit em off with some of my reasoning.. did i ever feel dumb.. .lolz
