Default running boost with AFR 58cc heads

How much boost can you safely run using the AFR 185 58cc heads on a stock bottom 306 with shot peened and polished stock rods? How much compression is that anyway? I want it to remain streetable.

thanks for the help,
bryan

Streetable is a relative term, but I'll assume you mean pump gas. It will also depend on which type of blower or turbo you are planning to run. An S-trim would probably be ok at around 8-9 psi? The heads will make about 9.5:1 compression with a stock shortblock.

jonnyk is right about being relative........

I have 60cc chamber Darts with fly cut pistons and I was able to run 9 psi with a chip. (Powerdyne 11lb pulley and their chip).

I was also able to run 11 psi with a T-trim with a stock pulley
BUT!
When I went to a 2.85 blower pulley (13psi) I melted 2 piston.

All of this was with 93 octane.
