Will I need a chip?
So with having a clogged cat I am going to buy an off road h-pipe soon. Will I need to by a chip so my check engine light will not stay on. I read here that some one had a chip for an o/r h-pipe and that it tricked the computer to think it had cats.

the check engine light problem only happens in 96 and newer cars.

no, a friend has an off-rd pipe & he didnt need a chip
