Default Got the transmission back in

I finally got the transmission back in the 89. What started out as a 159 dollar rebuild turned into a $550+ lesson in transmission work. All in all, I'm still glad I did it. I have the tranny in the car with a slip yoke in place but am awaiting a new slip yoke as the old one was chewed a little. I just put a new Ford aluminum driveshaft in it not 5000 miles ago but the tailshaft bushing got into it a bit and I didn't want to have to do this again because of a 4 dollar bushing. Anyway, I have a yoke on the way and hopefully it will be here Tuesday. On the other hand, the other T-5 needs a rebuild so that one is schedules for Week after next. I made the boy a deal.. .he pulls it and I'll pay for the rebuild. He's ordering a new Pro 5.0 shifter for his, The Hurst shifter that's in it has bitten the dust. He took it apart today and these things are a piece of junk! I really like the Competition Plus shifter in the 89 and it works flawlessly but the Hurst shifter in the Green Thng is a piece of plastic and aluminum junk. The sad part is the other shifter is built the same way.
Anyway, I started the 89 up and ran it through the gears idling and so far everything sounds good and works like it was new. Time will tell if it will do well under a load.

Oh, and the oldest boy is turning his 89 GT into a FFR cobra this next summer.
