So whats the problem? Just get the crank ground/repolished and it should be good to go.

That was a stock $400 junkyard motor. I went 11.68 on it. I was warming up the tires in 2nd gear on my 7th pass that night, I was holding about 4500 rpms, and it sounded like a rifle and the tach went to ZERO.

I would get the crank reground but the guy said thd if he welds the main cap back up that it will warp and the we would have to machine that also.

I think instead of that, I will order a CCM engine today.

I was just joking about the crank getting reground, could you really get it welded/reground if you wanted to? What kind of shortblock setup are you gonna go with?
