Cool How much timing can you run on 87 octane??

After putting almost 15K miles on my Mustang, and always having a nice Sunpro dial in timing light, I finally checked the timing on the stang. I first checked it as is, got about 17°. Thought that was high, checked my engine sticker, which was on the broken off coil cover courtesy of the PS pump fiasco 2 weeks ago. They list 10°, but first have to remove the spout conn. I had found this during the valve cover change, right in the TFS harness. So pop it off, start it up I get 8°. I was tempted to bring it up then, but looks like I need a special wrench to reach the bolt, like a ford version of my Chevy wrench which is a 9/16 hex. I assume 12 or 13 mm.

Next Q, what is the average max timing I can run on 87 octane?? If I am going to bump to 10° would like to go higher if I can. I know it's mostly trial and error, just want to get some ranges to play with.

Oh, yeah, after I get a good 87 baseline, I will find a good setting for 92-93 octane for track blasts before the track closes for winter Then I'll put some #'s up for ya guys
