Anyone tried the BF Goodritch Drag Radials?

They are pretty cheep, are they any good?

They are not bad, a car like ours may benifit from them, but i seen mildly modded stangs, one with iron gt-40 heads, grs and exhaust, spin halfway down the track with some bfg dr's..

Tell that to the guys running 9's at NMRA races. They have a class built especially around the tires called Drag Radial. I think the Unlimited Products Racing (UPR) car even broke into the 8's using the 325/50R15. You do have to set the suspension and drivetrain up around the tires. It's alot of work but really surprises peaople when you rip off a 10 or 11 second pass on the same tires you drove it into the track with.
For your car try the 275/50R15 on a 8-10 inch wheel set at 15 psi. Do a good burn out and lower you launch speed a bit over slicks. It may take some practice.

Yep, I tried them a few years ago. They were better than your standard street radial but I had a hard time hooking with them at the track. Played around with tire pressure and launch RPM's for quite some time. You really need to play around with the suspension to get them to hook good. I think the best 60 ft I could manage with them was like 2.0 or 2.1. With slicks 1.6 or 1.7 were more common.

IMHO they are great if you are looking for a tire you can drive to the track and race, then drive home without changing tires. But, they are terrible in the rain and for max ET's you can't beat the real deal, try some slicks.

Yea i know about the dragradial class, i believe they are seeing 1.4 60's, but like you said, the suspension is setup, id say those guys have coilovers, and decked out suspension, most guys say not to burnout with dr's, maybe a little dry burnout, but different people do different things.

personally id go with m/t sportsmans, if your gonna run something just for a short trips, everyday driver, but you cant beat m/t e.t. streets, but are costly, and do NOT drive them in the rain.

Do the Nitto drag radiale are better the BFG. Cause i want traction in street and any standard radiale cant hook up my power

I've used BFG DR 275/60's under my Chevelle. No problem running 1.6 60' times with 11.90 ET's @111mph. Follow the directions:BFG says do NOT do a burnout. Same with radials. Plenty of 9 second cars running BFG's, so if you can't hook, there's a problem. Even on the street, I hooked so hard at times, that once I blew out the driver's side skinny setting the tire back down after showing off how I can yank the fronts on the street. Embarrassing yes, but testamony to the tires.

I run BFG's and usually cut 1.8's\low 1.9's. I run a stock suspension too. Just a thought.

I have the stock little 16X7 pony rim on my LX, so is it a good match with the BFG DR 255/55/16????
