Question Just got my C4 rebuilt, need to ask you guys a few Qs.

Where can I start...

Well, I just got my transmission rebuilt.

I have NEVER b4 felt my transmission shift so hard in my life. It feels SOOOOO good. I cannot explain the rush. Almost scary, really. This car has transformed into a new being!!!

The only thing though is that it is shifting a bit too high. I would like it to shift at the most, 5500 rpm. Currently, in 1rst to 2nd, shifts at about 5500-5600, but from 2nd to 3rd, shifts at about 5900 rpm.

The thing is, about a year (when I had 2.73s in the rear) b4 I got it rebuilt, it was shifting at about 5600 in both gears, but didn't pull as hard as it seemed to be over my powerband (I was, in essence, just wasting rpms-- too high). I adjusted the modulator to so that it shifted about 52-5400 rpm (both shifts) and that seemed to do just fine. But now, MAN!, it seems as if it pulls soooo hard even as it is about to shift at 5900 (from 2nd to 3rd). I feel from instinct/experience that this SHOULD be a little too high, but why is it pulling so hard at such high rpms?

I know I should be happy, but my concern at this point is not wasting rpms (b/c it is definately still pulling VERY hard at 5900 rpm), but more about burning up the motor. (it's just a stock-- cast pistons-- 351W with the basic bolt-ons. You can see my sig)

I know my question may be kinda vague, but I would appreciate any thoughts or insight towards this matter.

B/c this goes against my better judgement, I plan on taking it back down to the tranny shop and getting the guy to adjust the modulator back a little-- that would be a good/safe thing to do right? I'd feel much safer if it would shift under 5600 rpm.

This week or next week I will purchase some drag radials and take her to the track. I'll let you guys know what she runs.
