Angry Transmission install problem

I've been trying to get my damn transmission in but it seems to stop about half an inch away from being in. I aligned the clutch disc to the flywheel, it looks pretty even to me. Has anybody else had this problem, because I have to get this thing in.

I went through this trouble for years, and just recently was enlightened by the solution...

Put the tranny in gear and play with the tailshaft, either with the driveshaft thrown in it or an extra yoke hangin around and the baby will slide right in...just did it on my coupe and it works great...

With the tranny in neutral the input shaft is sitting there fixed on whatevr it is stuck on, but in gear you could wiggle and jiggle it in with no problems

That is exactly what I just did. Just slide in the driveshaft and spin it slowly while in gear. Should slip right in.

thats what i do..i align my clutch with an old input shaft from a broken t-5 and i put an old cut driveshaft yolk and stick it in the back of the tranny so it keeps the fulid in and i got something o turn if the tranny is being a b1tch..
ur lucky you dont got a tremec..those things are hevier than t-5's.. try holding the tranny up in one hand and turning the back of it with the other on a tremec...its not that bad on a t-5 but that extra poundage gets your arm tired if you cant slide it in quick

I built myself a transmission holder out of some steel I got at Fleet-Farm. It sets into the hole where the cup on the jack goes. It's pretty crude but it sure was easy to take out and put in the tranny. When I get home, I'll take a picture and post it.
