![]() Dude are your eyes burnin driving that sucker????????????
Thats way too high of a pressure for your application. Are the heads ported? If not, you really don't need any more fuel than the factory setting, anywhere between 38 and 40 with the vacuum unplugged. ------------------ 1992 LX:V-1 S-Trim ,Edelbrock 6037 Heads,Cobra Intake,E-303,1.6 Rollers,65MM Holley TB, 75 MM Pro M Mass Air, 190 LPH FP,24 lb injectors,MSD 6A and BTM,BBK equal length shorties, offroad h-pipe,Mac Flowpath Mufflers,Pro 5.0, 3.73's,Motorsport "C" springs, welded subframe connectors,Ponies w/ 225/50 Nitto NT 450's on front,255/50 BFG Drags out back,93 Cobra Spoiler Daily driver 89 Coupe:BBK shorties, offroad, flowturds with dumps, soon to be cyber green |

![]() This is with the vacuum plugged. I thought you were supposed to plug it when you check and adjust the pressure. The instructions on my FPR said to plug it. Please let me know. And do I realy need a stronger pump?

![]() Green92LX: When I did the heads and intake on my 94 GT with the stock injectors, it wouldn't idle unless the fuel pressure was cranked up as high as it would go. When I put in the 30#'ers, I could drop it back to 40#.
fastang: I was assuming you still have 19# injectors since you did not say so in your sig. Unless you are getting a lot of noise out of your stock pump, I'd use that $200 (for the Ford pump) for at least 24# injectors. I wouldn't necessarily say you need a STRONGER pump, but if you replace the pump, just as well go with the 190. How does it run on the top end? Does it act like it's not getting enough fuel at WOT? With my 19# injectors, I couldn't run 14* without a bunch of knocking but when I went to 30# and the 190 pump, I could run 17* with 92 octane with no problems. Just a note, I went with the 30# because I (still) plan on getting a blower soon. If I was staying naturally aspirated I would go with 24# inj. Do you still have the stock computer? How does it like the B303 cam? |

![]() WHOA!! Talk about helping me out! Thanks man. I am having the same problems. I put all this $hit on my car and so far I only dropped 2 tenths in the quarter. I was detonating at high rpms so I dropped my timing down to 9! And it still detonates sometimes but not hard. I am using 92 octane also. I figured that It was running lean so I got the FPR and bumped the pressure a little. It seems to have helped, Im gonna try and get some more timing out of it now. Since you had the same problem Im probably going to get injectors too. My cpu seems to be taking the cam fine but this thing REALY needs a dyno tune w custom chip. I even put the larger ratio rockers on to get more lift. I am still using the stock heads and intake. Are the motorsport 19 pound injectors the same as crappy stock ones? Summit sells Ford racing 19 pounders and If they flow better than the stock ones I will get them since my MAF is already calibrated for them. I REALY dont want to have to get a new MAF again. Please let me know and thanks for your help..Jesse

![]() Fastang, you wouldn't need a new MAF.. just the sampling tube($30).

![]() I have a Vortech MAF and you only need to change the sampling tube. Interactive Systems Technologies sells them for about $25 plus shipping. When I upgraded to 24# injectors it solved all my wierd timing and knocking problems. My FPR is set at 26 PSI with the vacuum tube unplugged from the FPR and the engine running, base timing at 16*. Since you're running 19# injectors (factory) you'll have to set it higher, probably around 40 PSI.

![]() When I said that I had my vacuum line plugged I meant that I plugged the tube not left it in the regulator. I really hope this fixes my car. I was really pissed when I had to keep dropping my timing to stop detonation and only gained two tenths after installing all these mods. My car used to surge in the mornings too, especialy when cold. After I bumped my pressure a little it almost stopped the surging completely. I will get new injectors next month and post the results, thanks guys.
