Default Why atf

I was just wondering why you have to use Atf in the t-5. Everybody says you have to why can you not use gear oil. Just wondering.

Because the manufacture of the T-5 made it to operate properly with ATF inside, and not gear oil.

Lightbulb ATF/T-5

The viscosity of the ATF lubricates the T-5 well without gumming up. Don't experiment.

what mr 5 oh said basically cuz the lubrications holes ini the t-5 are very small and gear oil is way too thick to get in the holes efficently

Not to mention that the material on the synchros is designed to be used with ATF.

Take care,
