![]() i had the same problem with my 95gt, it ended up being that the cover that is around the input shaft(w/the bearing race) on the trans that the throwout bearing slides over just needed to be greased, because the throwout bearing was hanging up on it. thats the only thing that i can think of that is happening

![]() Is the quadrant and firewall adjuster new and it became hard to put into gear after you put them on or were they already on and the problem happened over a period of time? The reaso I ask is because i just put in the Steeda Quadrant and a UPR firewall adjuster and I was having mucho problems getting the clutch to engage. I must have finally wiggled everything just right because when i put it back the way it was supposed to go (after trying every other combination I could think of including swapping the cable 3 times), it all came together and it works fine. I think the quadrant was at a wierd angle and wasn't moving freely (I might go back in there and put some spacers on the rod it sits on for stability). Anyway this may not be your problem, but it's easier than the one sn95gt19 had. Good luck

![]() I also vote for a Quadrant geometry or hanging clutch fork or throwout bearing. When you replaced the cable or installed the quadrant maybe you got the fork popped off the pivot ball, or maybe the pivot ball or fork itself is worn or damaged. This does not sound related to a problem with the clutch disc or pressure plate.
The cable on my car was loose when I bought it with a smoked trans. The throwout bearing was digging into the pressure plate fingers beacuse the cable was not keeping it in place. I had bought everything else I needed, but would have liked to replace the clutch fork too, but it still works fine. Does the cable adjust tight enough to keep the fork from moving side to side?

![]() Yes the tension of the cable on the release fork should keep it from moving sid eto side. I am going to do my clutch this weekend and I hve a steeda quadrant, stock cable, and billet firewall adjuster. I am going to lube everything really well and get a steel bearing retainer and I will hopefully have a smooth engaging/releasing , soft pedal, and great grabbing power.
