Default first mods to 94 Cobra

I just picked up a 94 Cobra with 63,000 miles. The car came with flowmaster mufflers, underdrive pullies and a K & N filter. I would like to add a March Ram Air Intake and a set of 3.73 gears. Possible an H-pipe and short throw shifter. I was also wondering what the 0-60 times and 1/4 miles times. What kind of gain can i expect with those mods.
thanks

Screw the ram air, get the 3.73's. Off road or high flow H pipe will really help you out.

Ditch the Cobra computer and MAF if at all possible, but it'll be about $400 to replace it with an EEC tuner, and another $200 for a new MAF. I can't understand for the life of me why somebody would put underdrives on a Cobra since it comes from the factory with an underdrive crank pulley, but whatever floats their boat, hehe.

You might also think about investing in some good tires when you get the 3.73's.

Hey, I got a 95 Cobra and maybe I can help you out a little. First make sure your car has been properly tuned up. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, and possible a coil if it's corroded. Check timing and set it at around 14 degrees. Basically stock your car should run around mid 14's at 97 or 98. The first time I brought mine to the track I got a 14.4@98, and all I had was a mac H-pipe and cat-back. I put on a mac cold air kit, a pro-m 75mm mass air meter and threw in 4 quarts of synthetic oil, which will give you a little more horses, and just the other day ran an all time best of 14.1@101! With stock gears, lousy stock shifter and crappy short times. Hell I kept up with a 01 Cobra!! Basically almost everything on my car is stock so these cars have potential, just have to find out what works. I believe a couple good bolt on mods for these cars are definitely gears, H-pipe and a mass air meter. Good luck with your cobra, keep in touch.

Well since these cobras came with 60mm tb's,(acorrding to unit )get a 65mm, it sould work better with that intake, if i had a car with gt-40 heads and cobra intake such as yours, i would throw in some 4.10 grs, a shifter, e.t. streets, and welded subframe connectors, and rip up the track, thats just me though.

I'm almost positive that the stock tb is 65mm. I would do the gears and headers and an H or X pipe. You can probably go a little higher on the timing, i run mine around 18 usually. Ditch the computer when you get chance. With a few things, you should run 13s. Mine ran 14.0@100 with a bad clutch and not much done to it. Hope this helps.

The biggest improvement on my friends Cobra was headers and gears. With 3.73 and headers which we installed on the same day he dropped .6. The week before he ran it totally stock 38k miles tires everything and I got it down the 1/4 in 14.05 at 100.23 the next week with the changes we both tried and ran 13.65, 13.58, 13.61 at around 103 mph. He has done many changes over the winter and spend $400 -$500 over the winter and is still running the same numbers. Throwing money at something does not make it faster just more expensive.
