OK, I have my 88gt, mainly a track car, maybe 10 to 50 miles per month driven on the street.( racing lol). Im tired of killing T-5's. Last one went 8 runs before it took a poop.
My question is, Do you think a TKO (plus or 2)??? with sfi housing and my centerforce clutch will work. better or A C-4 with TCI reverse manual valve body, Trans brake, kevlar bands, all stainless braided hoses with those custom blue ends, B & M trans oil cooler with mounted fan, Auto meter ultra lite trans temp gauge and Hurst quarter stick which would provide better ET's . 431 RWHP with the T-5 on dyno, and I just installed a 175 NOS cheater kit. Pls, dont tell me about the block giving. If it does, I have a 69 351 from a torino gt waiting. ![]() |

Manual all the way...just too much fun to drive, even if its just down the 1/4 mile!
yeah, yeah, you'll pull better times with an auto, but its boring! Racing is all about the experience, right? |

Manual is fun to drive, But I dont want to keep pu1ling it out and spending 1k in parts. Remember I already have 373 ft lbs of torque at rear wheels without the Nitros
and the TKO said its rated for 400 ft lbs of torque. I plan on dropping back to either 390 or 410 gears from 456's which will probably increase the pressure on the drivetrain |

i would say c4 if its built right you will get ALMOST the same result in times as a t-5 or tremec. yes stick is more fun to drive but i would say go auto, since you only drive it on the street to race.

You'll run faster, more consistent times with a built automatic transmission. Belle, since when is a 10 second auto. not fun to drive?
If it was more street car, then my vote would go with a TKO II, you said it was mainly a drag car, so C4 with brake gets my vote. |

hey hey, my biddy had a 68 camaro with a slap shifter on a thd350 and it looked like fun. Besides, ill be running an 8" converter 4000- 4500 rpm. sounds like fun hehehe. I just dont think a tko 2 can launch with 175hp boost. dont know if a built c-4 can either, but i guess ill keep the flywheel and centerforce clutch around if I ever do go back to man trans
