Default Help!!!

Ok my 91 GT 49K original mile wonder is having major problems. It was fine since I bought it back in November up to this day. I was driving normaly, stopped at a lite, and then when i went to accelerate, the car wouldn't move. It was like it was in nuetral. I hit the gas all the way until it reached like 3K rpm, then i felt the car jirk, and I was off. I turned around and drove home and for the whole way home, the same thing. The tranny doesn't seem to kick in when in drive until like 3-4K rpm. Its like I'm running a huge stall converter, which I'm not...
