killer NOS
whats up all you mustang lovers!!!!
i have a 94GT with about 80,000 miles 3.73's, ram-air induction, superchip, mac shorties, pro-chamber h-pipe, flowmsters, mac pulleys. i want NOS. i dont want it to fry my engine though. i know it kills your engine depending on how much you use it, but is there a set up that will not harm my engine? something about directly from the manifold? (not sure), and should i go with a 65mm or 70mm throttle body? thanx. |

Properly setup NO will not harm your engine. Sure it places more stress on everything, especially the bottom end, but as long as it's tuned properly you'll have no problems. There are many different companies out there, I'd stay with a name brand like NOS or NitrousExpress. Just remember go lean and say bye bye to your motor. A 100 shot is a good starting point. Anymore and the pistons might suffer, although some guys are running 150 or more with the hypereutectic pistons. Be careful and you'll have no problems.

As long as you use it correctly, NOS will not hurt your engine. From what everyone has told me, a dry kit is the safest way to go. As long as there is enough fuel being delivered, you will be ok. I have been told that you shouldn't push your pistons to hard considering they are not forged but a 75-100 shot will be ok. One thing to consider, you are going to want all the extras for it(gauges, timing control, remote bottle valve, purge kit) they will make things safer and more convienent for you. I started out thinking it will cost me 450 for the stage one and thats it...well, went with stage two and goodies that put me at about 1000 bucks...It is WELL worth it though, Cant believe how much power she is puttin out now!

Use the NOS 5115 kit...dry spray
Keep the 75 jets in it and 10-12* timing I have a msd 6al and 190lph fuel pump just to safe and run mid-12's Perfectly safe...best bang for your buck other than gears. w/ the 75 jets you will get around 10 full passes per bottle ------------------ 4.10's,long tubes & 75 shot...Goes 12.50's Check it out at http://www.burnouts.webprovider.com |

I am running a 150 shot with 95,000 miles on mine. I have the car running very rich. Timing is set at a conservative 9 degrees, and the plugs are 24's gapped at 0.035. Everyone is right though, yes N20 can be hard on your engine if not set up right, but the great thing about N20 is it's only a strain on your engine when your spraying, unlike Superchargers or Turbos. If your engine is built for it, thats one thing, but IMO you get more bang for your buck running N20 on a stock engine than the others. Of course my opinion is a little biased. Five.0---it looks like ever1 is giving you good advice, but I did notice something listed in your mods that I would recommend removing before attempting to run N20 in that bad boy...the aftermarket CHIP!!! Chips are programmed to modify both your fuel and ignition curves (in otherwards it will advance your timing more than the stock computer does. Remove the chip, set time conservatively at 1st and gradually increase till there are signs of detonation, then back off 2degrees from that point. Catch Ya later!!!
