![]() Mike and I hung the 8.8" rear allegedly from an '89 GT yesterday and there are what appears to be dampers on this rear that weren't on the original rear. They look like shocks, but are mounted just inside the drum backing plates on top of the axle. They look like they are for dampening axle housing rotation when accelerating from a stop.
The original rear doesn't have these and the body doesn't seem to actually have a place for attaching them. How do we go about attaching these? Has anyone else done this? Does the '89 GT have a place to attach these that 4-cylinder cars didn't? Anyone have any pics of a rear installed like this? I am new to Mustangs so, go easy on me... ![]() Thanks all,
