![]() Hello,
I am looking at a 351W a guy built to have only run on the dyno for 3 hrs(so he says). Right now it is a short block due to him using the heads on another car. He claimed it dyno'd at 535 hp. The pistons are sealed power coated pistons. He claims the rods are Ford Racing. When I looked at the caps, if I remember correctly, it had C90E or something along those lines. Aren't Ford Racing rods marked with the Ford Racing inside the oval? I'm not sure about the crank shaft. He states the engine has been line bored, balanced, and everything else a machine shop would do for a race engine. I can pick the short block and a Victor jr. manifold up for $1000. It does come with the timing cover and head studs. The pistons looked to have been cleaned up with a high speed wire wheel. I'm wondering if they were just carboned up and he wanted to clean them up or maybe he put used pistons in that block. Please help me out if you know how the rods should be marked and what's your opinion on the price. I just purchased ProComp 210cc heads anticipating the purchase of this engine and now I'm wondering if he is trying to pull one over on me. Can never be too cautious. Thanks in advance. |
