I just got a 88 lx 5.0 and one of the previous owners put on a set of headers on it and i think that they are in the way of the dip stick.

Look on the driver's side of your car,there should be a long,skinny tube sticking through the exhaust tubes of the headers.
If I was able to,I'd take a picture of what my dipstick tube looks like. ------------------ Paxton Blown 87GT |

it should still be right where the old one was..the hole in the block for it is on the driver side middle of the block about 1-2" above the oil pan
