![]() Hey,
Looking to get the following before I finish my T5 installation. Black carpet for front and back. Black carpet for 'trunk' area. Black seat cover for rear seat. Black door panels (for door and lock area). How much should I expect to spend, and who sells this stuff? Tried this post a while back, but got inaccurate responses (err...couldn't find the parts on the supplied sites). Thanks, DoranW

![]() new trunk carpet:
http://www.brothersperformance.com/s...g/acc3294.html new interior carpet: http://www.brothersperformance.com/s...g/acc2196.html rear seat covers (cloth): http://www.brothersperformance.com/s.../flofitrc.html rear seats (leather): http://www.brothersperformance.com/s.../flofitrl.html For the door panels, give them a call, they might have them. I was going to do a black cobra conversion on the interior of my 89 stang and found lots of stuff on eBay, including COMPLETE black interiors. Good luck with your search.

![]() Latemodel Restoration Supply and Texas Mustang Parts sell carpets, upholstery and some plastic interior parts. Worth a shot.
www.50resto.com www.texasmustang.com Other Mustang interior parts suppliers abound; check the Mustang magazine ads and use a search engine to locate more. Last resort for plastic interior parts are the local boneyards. Interiors are similar on the 4 cylinder Mustangs so you have a good chance of finding what you need there, as far as any hard plastoc parts go. |

![]() I picked up a black carpet, kick panels, door sills, and sun visors out of a T-boned 4 cyl in my local junkyard. Total price was 40 bucks. Oh yeah and the black seat belts that some how made there way in to my pants. Not a bad way to get parts!

![]() Black door panels are a hot commodity in eBay. Expect to pay around $200 for them. Good Luck.

![]() Well I bought my black carpet through Summit, ACC was the brand I went with and it fits and looks great, you can also buy the hatch piece. I just finished converting my grey interior to black and it looks better the factory, I used the Duplicolor Vinyl and Interior paint $3.50/can at Walmart.
I was always afraid to do this but if you prep it right it will not scratch or rub off, I wiped all my parts down with Mr.Clean/Hot Water and dried then, then scuffed the panels lightly with a Red Sciff pad (Body shop supply house sell these, you could also use White which is less aggressive) then I wiped them down with Grease and Wax remover and painted them Matte Black, took 5 cans to do all my plastic, door panels and dash. I'll have to get some pics, I just finshed putting the new headliner and rear carpet (no rear seat) in last night and it looks AWESOME!

![]() Watch out for that Duplicolor crap!!! That's what I used at first, and it looked great. After a while it started to fad and chip. especially on the door sills where my feet would drag across, and the pads on the arm rests. I even took all the steps to degrease, clean, and scuff the surfaces too. I found out about a company called SEM products. Their paint in far superior then Duplicolor, by a long shot!!!!! It costs a little more about 8 bucks a can, but totally worth it. I haven't had any problems with the paint since then! Just and FYI

![]() DON'T BUY PAINT!! What you really need is interior dye in a spray can. Its about $3 a can and will dye the plastic so it won't rub off.

![]() Well so far my pieces look great and even when I scraped them I can't get any to come off, I agree the SEM paint is great I have used that on all my metal interior and exterior trim, worth the money if you can find it local or Eastwoods carries it.. I think one thing that helped mine is it hasn't seen any kind of armor oil or dressing in over a year, and I made sure I throughly cleaned it. Since my car is retired to a garage queen, weekend cruise/racer it should be fine, I have even scratched it with a screw driver and it hasn't come off...maybe I just got lucky.
fiveohpatrol- Check out my new site in my sig, it has pic's of the car. If anyone is going to the All Ford Nats in Maple Grove I'll be there showing on Sunday.

![]() Can you post some pics close up of that air filter cover. I need to make one for my car and need some ideas. If you don't have any pics, can you explain what you did? If you bought it, where?
