				 | rear end swap question I haven't been successful in finding a reputable person in my area to do an install of gears. SO- wondering about going to junkyard and getting another 8.8 out of a fox GT or something. (I need 3.08 or 2.73, and currently run 3.55's). I seem to recall one for $200 (much cheaper than $225 gears + $300 install) What is the average cost of an 8.8 and what are the dangers of doing a swap (other than me grabbing an 8.8 with 4.11's or something)? If you're wondering WHY IS HE DOING THIS??? I'm going to Germany for awhile and need the top end to keep up on the autobahn. Rob

				 | why not just buy a taller set of tires? it will have the same effect.. the 3.55's arent THAT bad on top end anyway... 4.30's on the other hand....

				 | My 3.55's whine on decel, so you don't want to swap. I am looking for a set of 3.08's if anybody's got a good set that didn't whine. Reason for not going to taller tire is I need to be able to run 110-130 mph for sustained periods, yet not loose the corner carving grip. If anyone has any leads, let me know. Thanks. Rob PS- Finally found a guy who'll do the gear swap for $225 + parts.

				 | How fast do you intend "top-end" to be? chances are you can go faster (more mph) with the 3.55 than with the 3.08 or 2.73 gears as you will not have enough H.P to pull the taller gear with the limited mods to your 5.0
