Ford 302 starter motor - Aarrgghhh.!!!!
Hi - I have a Ford 302 motor (1971 vintage) and a C4 auto box. The starter motor is awful. It has a high pitched engagement ring to it - it then continues to whizz away if the engine doesn't fire. It's so bad I wait until there's no-one around before starting!
Can you suggest a good replacement starter that is like a pre-engaged type so it doesn't make that infernal noise and frighten the children and horses?? The motor is in a Ford Capri Mk1 (Europe style) Perana from South Africa - but I'm in the UK. thanks Chris |
