![]() I am working on a 1992 coupe with a stock carbureted 302w, it had a 4 banger tranny in it. They decided to remove the 4 banger tranny before it broke and installed a SN 1994 tranny and bellhousing. I figured the correct starter would be one from a 1994 mustang. I installed the starter and the bendix gear is too far to the outside of the flywheel. I laid under the car and watched the starter as they turned it over and the bendix gear comes far enough out but is too far to the outside of the flywheel.
I heard that a starter from a late model 351W truck might fix my problem cause it has a bigger bendix gear. Does anyone know if this is true? Help????
