Best Supercharger for my app..
Ok i want a self contained unit meaning i dont want to have to punch a hole in my Canton Pan. but i guess if I HAD to..... anyways i have about 9.85:1 compression right now and i plan on porting my heads and getting a better intake.. OR a supercharger if i go the forcedinduction route what PSI and BRAND do I need to look into.. Help me out here guys.. thanks

Brand - ProCharger
PSI - Definately consult with a professional on this one (i.e. not me! ) But I would guess that given your 10:1 comp. ratio, you should shy away from anything over 9 psi at the intake. Just make sure you keep the timing out of the motor and supply plenty of fuel. Good luck, E

Are you useing a stock Block??? there realy is not a best a super that is the (best out there) Many people will tell you Most any will work for you dont get a small one like a A-trim. OO i see a 150 shot will you keep it on the car?? if so Might have to use Race Gas to use it with a Super on it I am not sure. OOO By the way I say get a ProCharger P-1sc and a Intercooler!!!! And It will FLY!!!!

yeah with that higher compression I would say nothing over 8-9psi intercooled. Go with a D1 series procharger and 3 core intercooler, or if you want more cooling and safter intake temps upgrade to a sheetmetal intercooler. Either will do you fine and make gobs of power. The D1SC is also self contained and capable of 32psi via ATI's claim. Although I have no problems running 9psi on my D1SC and making good power w/ little Gt40X heads, E303, stock intake, shorty headers, and catalyc pipe. BTW, if you go D1SC ask for a pulley around a 4", thats about how big mine is.
Or if you wanna wait the F1 series is coming from from procharge, self contained, supossed to be stronger than the beefy D1, and has a higher setup ratio of 5.0:1 !!! wow Where as the D1SC has a 4.10, which is still really good. I would also think that with that higher compression your gonna need a good fuel system. At least 50# injectors if you plan on aftermarket heads and cam, higher compression w/ forced induction will require better fuel being supplied due to it detonating easier. good luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask. later Dan 95 rio red cobra #2021 |

with that kind of compression maybe stay w/ like 9-10 pounds of boost. w/ a centrifugal you might want to run about 10-11 degrees initial to haul you out of the hole then use a boost retard up top to help against detonation. also run at least 36 lb injectors and a 255 lph pump w/ your mods. instead of a piss poor fmu you might want to go w/ bigger injectors and a boost sensitive fuel pressure regulator. make sure you run high octane fuel and keep an eye on your pcv valve and your upper intake hoses cuz they willl all pop out under boost. maybe zip tie them down. go w/ a 80mm mass air and reduce your plug gap to about 35 thousanths and go 1 or 2 colder on the plugs . make sure your electronic system is up to the challenge. get a msd ignition w/ a boost retard, and make sure your wires and coil are in good shape. you will also need to fel-pro loc wire or o ring your heads. if you want a baddass, reliable, street blower get a powerdyne. if you want to get competitive get a novi. put in a fuel pressure gauge and watch that mofo like its gonna show you its tits! w/ blowers religious tuning is everything. keep your eye on the electric and fuel system, keep them strong and you'll be hauling a$$. good luck w/ the blower.

If you go with a Procharger, which I recommend, I suggest spending the extra $300 or whatever and getting the 3 row intercooler. The D-1 kit may already have it (??). If not, it's cheap insurance against detonation.
