Post fog light bypass wiring

Does anyone know how to wire the factory fog lights to stay on when the high beams are on?
I don't know about the other year mustangs but on the '87'93 when you put the highbeams on the fog lights go out until you return to low beam again. How do you fix that?

Really? I never noticed that. If it's true, it's probably because you shouldn't put your high beams on in fog.

I just ran out to check and guess what? My headlights and fog lights didn't come on at all. Isn't that just great? I'll have to check them in the morning.

I like to drive around at night with the fogs on because I think that looks cool.
They also don't come on until you have low beams on. They won't even come on if you just have the parking lights on. I don't like that. I want to be able to turn them on regardless of which lights are on or not.

Go to the articles on this web site and select electronics. There is an article in there on how to rewire them.

I love the look of a mustang running down the road with the parking and fog lights on. You didn't hear it from me but if you go to the corral they have a fix. Here is the link http://www.corral.net/tech/maintenance/foglights.html

Don't use this setup for extended periods of time though...it will fry your harness and your switch.

Trust me, I have a lot of friends with GT's and they have ALL had problems with that setup.

I've tried the corral one. Don't have any problem except about two fuse burned but i don't worry about that. I'm a little bit rough with my electrical system will i'm doing some maintenance.

(I've let the fog light switch on while i've repluged the battery after storage)

Hi,
Does there seem to be a problem with the headlight switch unit (harness+switch unit) on 89 LX? I am having one hell of a time with my situation.

With my switch, one clicks gets nothing, two clicks gets headlight but no console or side marker lights; only way to get it to work is turn on head beam, and then move the switch just a bit back until console+side marker lights come on.

I checked the grey harness that hooks up to the switch and it's got a brown tint in the center (most likely a burn). I've tried several switch units but they don't work. I'm guessing it's my harness....in the mean time, I'm trying to figure out how to make a toggle switch out of the harness wires...I got the wire info from corral.net...

Ack...I'm getting tired of this...if anyone can help with electricals, please e-mail me (gautam@cubicdesign.com)..

Thanks!
Bye!
