These things come in groups, I swear!

Okay, get a 12 volt test light.
Attach the clip to an engine ground.
Turn the key "on" (don't try and start it).
Touch the tip of the tester to the coil pos. terminal.

Does it light up brightly?

If so, move the testlight clip to the coil neg. terminal.
While someone else tries to start the engine, touch the tester tip to the coil pos. terminal.

Does the light flicker?

Post your results, and we'll go from there.
