I have 308's in the back right now. What i am trying to figure out is what do i need for my car next, Intake, Gears::373's:: , cam? Please help, my budget is kinda thin being i am having a baby in April , So my wife does not like the idea now..Thats why i want something less expensive..

berry, this is an easy one. Definately get the gears, in my opinion it is one of the best bang for the buck. If you get the intake then you are not going to reap the full benefits of it unless you get heads, and so on. which means you are going to have to spend more money to truly get everything out of that mod. but the gears are kind of by themselves. it doesn't really require another mod after it. good luck

In a word, GEARS! Get the Gears. I didn't check whether you have an AOD or a T5, but if I were you, I would look at the following:

If AOD: 3.73 or 4.10
If T5: 3.55 or 3.73

You can pick up Ford Racing ring & pinion sets for $189.95 from Summitt Racing or from Jegs. Then, you can have them installed for ~$225 (depends on you area).

Definately a great bang-for-the-buck improvement. You will not be disappointed.

Good luck and congrats on the baby.

I was hoping all of you would say gears, Now with my 5 speed, would i be better off with 355's or 373's. I know i need to get the speedo gear and all, what about a shim kit ? is that maybe a shop would provide with install? I am just tired of these sluggish 308's i have. I want something that will pin you back for a sec..

the fms kit comes with the shim kit. One thing you should purchase is a new pinion bearing, it does not come with the kit and it is already off, so soon replace it. Also make sure whoever replaces the gears uses friction modifier which is sold at every ford dealership. Depending on your daily driving i would get 3.55's if the car see's highways most of the time and 3.73's if you do mostly in town driving. by the way congradulations on the baby, hope all goes well. take it easy
