My 79 had manual brakes on when I bought it so I can't help you there. I can say that I have no adj proportion valve and it still works great. Not sure if you know this but when you bleed the brakes start from the tire farthest from the master cilinder (right rear) and work your way to the front left. Don't know if this will help any but good luck.

I am going to do this vey thing soon I hope. I am going to buy the Racecraft kit. It comes with the master cyl, plate and rod. It is all supposed to bolt right up and a prop valve is not needed.

Brad

P.S. I think the whole kit goes for $110
