Aunt bought a 01 ws-6
Well actually traded her granprix for it, it's an automatic, with ws6, ram air i was told, now on our next family gathering, whenever that'll be, and the trash talking comes out, im gonna need to back up my word, of course im not gonna back down...
One of my questions is what do these cars run stock? i mean i know about the whole ls1 thing, and seen many race, but what about the ws-6? 13.8? 100? ok and before i step up against this carm what kind of chance do i have? I will have my subframes welded, no gears until summer and i will probaly yank the sway and be lauching on nittos or bf's drag's I also went and registered at ls1.com, but didnt want to jump in the flames they have going there I figured those liars would be saying there a4's are running 110mph traps (stock), in which i just cant buy? and also the 99 T/A i ran before only had me at his rear tire at the 1000ft mark, then won with 101 trap speed. ------------------ 90 lx coupe: Mac cold air fenderwell, accel supercoil, advncd ignition,3-core radiatr, FMS alum D/S, Black magic fan, 3.27grs, 3chbr flows. Not trying to start a flame here and maybe this was just a mutant car but a friends gf had a 00 ws6 auto and it ran 13.2's(not sure about mph) all day long with only K&N and borla.

Oh no flame indeed, i agree though 13.2 hmm, well i thought the 17 in wheels made them a little slower, or lost more traction, but good thing is, she will keep everything stock, no converter, grs or exhaust.
I forgot to add, i will also throw on some pullies, or an h-pipe....i feel confident i can get a good e.t. but will lack the mph the ls1 has. But in reality my car is too high milage to be racing a brand new t/A...'hands are in the air'?? ------------------ 90 lx coupe: Mac cold air fenderwell, accel supercoil, advncd ignition,3-core radiatr, FMS alum D/S, Black magic fan, 3.27grs, 3chbr flows. a ws-6 is basically the same thing for a trans-am as the SS is to the Z-28, Ram-air and i think minor suspension work, about the race, is she a racer or just another lady that saw a pretty car and decided to buy it? i ask because if she doesnt know how to drive/race, then she'll either leave the traction control on or just smoke the crap out of the tires, both ways you would smoke her out of the hole, she still may pull on you up higher though, those ls1's are bad a$$, with your gears, hpipe and pulleys, you should have her all the way down the track, h-pipe and pulleys alone should get you ahead unless she gets a great launch

Thats where i benefit also, she or her husband dont know how to race, and i do beleive i can get her or him out of the hole and down the track, and i doubt they could knock off mid 13's the first time out, although she owned a 88 GTA 5.7, but a lot different than these F's, plus with an auto she would just throw it in 'D' and go....

This is a perfect example of when the driving makes the difference. When you out drive them(him or her) there is going to be a bunch of reasons/explanations why you won. Ranging from the car isn't broke in to we need to get it serviced.
Unless you tell them why you won they will probably never know. When they do figure it out you should have time to get gears and other goodies that should make up the difference in performance. Have Fun! Enjoy it! Mike |

90dpscoupe:
Right now, the Ponco would kick your butt, even bone-stock and with the automatic and a clueless driver. Whatever you gain out of the hole, Aunty will reel you back in on the big end, as you already know. You need some gears, very good traction and a few more bolt-on's to run mid-high 13's, which should put you ahead of the WS-6 automatic, but you're still very vulnerable on the top end (70 mph-up) and could lose there unless you get a huge lead at the start and can hold it. Her lack of driving skill will help; kill her off the line and hold the lead - if you can. Good luck. |

I hang out with a bunch of guys from a local website that drive LS1's. Let me tell you, every damn one was in the twelves this weekend with the exception of one. It was BONE stock and the guy only had 6000 miles on it and it ran 13.19. They are fast, and if it's an A4 you are in for a hurting, they don't have to know how to drive. I am a loyal Ford fan, but I am nothing but impressed with the performance of these cars. A guy from our site went 12.22 with a bolt on A4. Be careful, and don't write a check your car can't cash .
